TOY publication The ToyZone analyzed Google search data to find the most popular Pokémon in every country in celebration of Pokémon’s 25th anniversary.
According to their research collected on February 2021, the Psychic-type Pokémon Abra is the Philippines’ most popular Pokémon.
No word from ToyZone if they considered Abra the local rapper and Abra the province.
The analysis, as explained on their website, was controlled to only consider the original 151 Pokémon from the original Pokémon Red and Green titles from 1996.
Currently, there are a total of 898 Pokémon following the latest main game release, Pokémon Sword and Shield.
On a global scale, Pikachu dominates Google searches accounting for roughly one in every 10 Pokémon-related searches around the world. Countries include Egypt, Laos, Nepal, Laos, and Turkey.
Considered the birthplace of Pokémon, Asia is the place for the series’ largest fan base. According to Google Trends data, the countries with the greatest demand for Pokémon worldwide are Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Nepal.
