Get ready to witness the beauty and strength of the city of Tacloban as Chelsea Lovely Cabias Fernandez competes for the first ever Miss Kasanggayahan Philippines crown.

Fernandez is a radiant beauty queen who made it into the official list of candidates for the grand Miss Kasanggayahan Philippines in Sorsogon.

The Kasanggayahan Festival which is held annually in the month of October is the largest celebration for the whole province of Sorsogon.

The festival commemorates the declaration of Sorsogon as a province and is included in the Department of Tourism’s list of festivals and celebrations in the Philippines.

The term “kasanggayahan” means prosperity and this vibrant festival promises a spectacle of local products and beautiful sceneries which will be represented by the candidates from across the Philippines.

The Miss Kasanggayahan Philippines competition will showcase the beauty, talent and intelligence of the 53 official candidates.

The grand screening process took place at the Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium in the City of Sorsogon which marked the final stage of the 40-day search for the official candidates for Miss Kasanggayahan Philippines on August 18.

Fernandez, a 25-year-old Taclobanon, brings a powerful story of resilience and hope to the Miss Kasanggayahan stage.

With a background in Mass Communication Major in Broadcasting and a heart brimming with passion, Fernandez has already made a name for herself in the world of beauty pageantries.

She has proudly represented her hometown in various competitions like the Miss Silka Philippines 2016, Miss Teen Pintados on 2017, Reyna ng Aliwan Fiesta 2018, Miss Philippines Earth – Water 2019, Miss Bikini Philippines 2020 and Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2022.

Fernandez embodies the beauty and spirit of Tacloban which is a city known for its resilient people and unwavering hope especially during the time of the unforgettable Typhoon Yolanda in 2013.

“My hometown is known for its happy people and reputation as a city of hope. The resilience of Waraynon people continues to shine through despite the devastation caused by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013. One of our symbols of unity and love is the bridge of love - the San Juanico connecting Leyte and Samar islands. I take pride in our community’s ability to rise above adversities. Love, happiness and hope. Just remember this, basta waray mahusay!” Fernandez said.
