A police investigation is now underway regarding the leaked personal photos of BLACKPINK’s Jennie according to her talent agency YG Entertainment.

YG Entertainment is taking to court those involved in leaking the personal photos of Jennie, from the international sensation k-pop group BLACKPINK as it sought police's help in investigating those behind the leak.

A statement was released by YG Entertainment on October 3, Monday, addressing the issue and revealed that they will strongly act on the ongoing spread of false information.

Despite not announcing which incident they are referring to, it could be related to Jennie and V of BTS dating rumors that have widely spread in social media after pictures shared on Twitter and Telegram appeared to show the two dining together.

“We have officially requested the police to investigate who first circulated Blackpink Jennie’s personal photos,” reads the statement.

“YG has been consistently monitoring the matter and filed a lawsuit in September after collecting information. We have refrained from mentioning the matter or making an official statement in order to minimize any further damage. However, there have been indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs. We are now announcing that we will take legal action and correct the situation.”

The rumors started as early as last May as the two k-pop stars were allegedly seen together for a vacation on Jeju islands with pictures to support the claims.

However, YG Entertainment chose not to respond on the matter, saying that they have “nothing to say.”

In the statement, YG also claims that they would take "all possible legal action without any leniency to prevent further damage in the future “ as they uphold their standard of protecting their artists’ rights and interests.

“YG takes strong legal action against [online] posts that damage our artists’ character or reputation,” the statement continues. “Regarding this matter, we announce that we have also sued those making malicious posts, or those which repeatedly upload unconfirmed claims, for defamation, distribution of illegal information and “obscene acts by using means of communication.”
