Lapillus to debut on June with a Filipina member Chanty.
A kababayan is about to debut in the world of K-Pop and she’s half Filipino and half Argentinian actress.
One of the agencies in South Korea, MLD Entertainment which is the agency behind MOMOLAND, recently announced their newest girl group, called Lapillus. Introducing the group with a total of six members and one who has caught the attention of fans is Filipina-Argentinian Chanty.
Chanty whose real name is Chantal Videla is a 19 year old model and actress. She was born in the Philippines to a Filipino mom and Argentinian dad. Although she was born in Manilla, Chanty spent her childhood in Mendoza, Argentina, before moving back to the Philippines, where she started her modeling and acting career.
She knows how to speak English, Tagalog, Spanish and Korean.
At her young age, she started her career in the country under one of the most popular talent agencies Star Magic. Chantal was signed to Star Magic and a member of Star Magic Circle Batch 2018, the same batch as Donny Pangilinan, Leila Alcasid, Charlie Dizon, and Tony Labrusca. She then acted in several dramas in ABS CBN like Hiwaga ng Kambat (2019) and Starla (2019-2020).
In 2021, it was announced that Chanty had left the Philippines and signed with MLD Entertainment as their newest talent. From the moment it was reported, Chanty acquired love from fans as well as displayed her talents.
Lapillus is set to debut on June 20. The group will have six members consisting of Bessie, Yue, Seowon, Haeun, Shana, and Chanty.
Chanty will not be the first K-Pop idol with Filipino blood who will debut in the industry. Before her are Belle of Cignature, JYP Entertainment trainee Youn Dong-Yeon, and Kriesha Chu.
