Four days after Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) President Michelle Nikki Junia was discharged from St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig City after undergoing a laparoscopic appendectomy, she went back to office to work on some unfinished papers and to attend meetings and functions.

On the second day of her return to office, Michelle Nikki attended the A-press-citation Christmas party tendered by the CCP Corporate Communications Division held at the Lyf Hotel in Malate.

Even if she was still limping a bit because of a post-surgery wound, Nikki managed to rub elbows with the members of the press.

"I cannot miss this opportunity to mingle and interact with our friends from the press who have always been with us in spreading the news about the events and other important announcements of the Center," said Nikki in a separate interview.

Together with Dennis Marasigan, CCP Vice President and Artistic Director, Nikki had a good time bonding with the media people.

To signify as well her getting along with the members of the Fourth Estate, Junia shared some songs that delighted the guests and staff of the CCP Publicity Department.

By the time Nikki felt the fresh wound in her stomach ached, she gradually inched her way out and apologized for her exit.

Members of the press readily understood her predicament.

Dennis led her fellow officer to the doorsteps and waved her good night.

Not only were food and drinks plentifully served, there were games and prizes galore.

Their music numbers dished out by, according to entertainment and culture journalist Art Tapalla, members of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) who performed popular tunes.

Marasigan gamely rendered two songs, one of them "Panalangin," an original song by Apo Hiking Society.
