Arjo Atayde’s “Cattleya Killer” to be presented at MIPCOM Cannes in hopes of securing an international distribution partner on October 19.

Actor Arjo Atayde and Ruel S. Bayani, head of ABS-CBN International Production and Co-Production, will be heading to France for the premiere screening of the TV drama series, “Cattleya Killer,” at MIPCOM Cannes, the world’s largest co-production and entertainment content market.

On behalf of ABS-CBN, Bayani will present the pilot of the six-part series to industry decision makers, in anticipation of securing a global distribution partner at the MIPCOM Cannes which started on October 17 and will run through the 20th.

“It is our vision that Filipino content will be known as innovative, compelling, and meaningful; and that as we become an integral part of the beautiful tapestry of global storytellers, we will find our permanent place in the hearts of the international audience,” says Bayani, who was also responsible for some of the biggest hits in movie and television in the Philippines.

The announcement was made through the social media accounts of ABS-CBN, posted on October 14, Friday.

“ABS-CBN brings Filipino content to an international audience with a premiere screening of ‘Cattleya Killer’ at this year’s MIPCOM Cannes, the largest content market in the world,” it read. “This marks the first time a Filipino production will screen at MIPCOM.”
“The pilot of the six-part series will be presented to industry decision makers on Oct. 19 in anticipation of securing a global distribution partner,” it added.

MIPCOM Cannes is an annual event where executives and artists gather “to compete for new series, to source international production partnerships and to set the development agenda,” according to its website.

“Cattleya Killer” follows a son of cop who solved an infamous case of cryptic murders by a copycat serial killer on the loose in Manila after committing crimes two decades ago, which took a sharp turn after the cop became the prime suspect.
