Carlo Aquino lands major role in an international film by High Roads Creatives which will be co-produced by Japan’s 034 productions.

Carlo Aquino has been tapped for a major role in an international movie that will be co-produced by a Japanese film company as announced by his talent agency on Friday, September 9.

Star Magic released photos of Aquino officially taking on the role with the contract signing with the Japanese company 034 Productions together with Philippines’ High Roads Creatives in which the two film companies will collaborate to make the upcoming film.

Joining both the companies and Aquino in the contract signing was ABS-CBN TV production head and concurrent Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi.

“[Carlo Aquino] lands his first lead international role! Carlo Aquino, together with Star Magic Head [Laurenti Dyogi], signed a movie project with Philippine independent production house High Road Creatives and Japan’s 034 Productions,” Star Magic stated. “
“Filming is set to be begin early next year,” the agency said.

However, no further details about the story and other cast members were revealed yet

This would not have been Aquino’s first international break in the acting scene as he had an opportunity to join the cast of the Netflix mega-hit series “Squid Game” last year, but was not able to film for the role due to COVID-19 travel restrictions at the time.

The streaming site Netflix however, acknowledged Aquino by sending him a green tracksuit and “invitation card.”

Aquino’s international project comes after months of busy schedule for the actor, having starred in the ABS-CBN series “How to Move On in 30 Days” opposite Maris Racal, and the romance drama film “Expensive Candy” alongside Julia Barretto.

On September 8, Carlo was also spotted reuniting with ex-wife Trina Candaza during their daughter Mithi’s second birthday celebration as he revealed earlier this year that after the two divorced, they have been co-parenting Mithi.
