Kean Cipriano leaves Callalily after 17 years
Callalily officially rebrands as ‘LILY Music’ when frontman Kean Cipriano left after nearly two decades of being a part of the band to focus on his solo career and label.
“Callalily is done. I’ve moved on, moving forward, and I wish them all the best,” he said in an interview on Push TV.
Cipriano founded O/C Records in 2018, and so far, has released a single called ‘Eye Contact’ and his first solo album named ‘Childlike’ last year.
He also said that after 17 years, a lot has happened between the members “I believe we’re not in good terms. I don’t think we’re okay, that’s that.”
A complete change in the band’s Facebook came after the renaming as they changed their profile and cover photos that now go on white backgrounds just this week.
“I hope they find it, kung sino man. I mean you know I wish them really all the best ‘di ba. Like I said, Callalilly is done and kung ano man 'yung gusto nilang gawin, I mean, ’yun naman talaga ang point nito ‘di ba na in 10 years babalikan naming lahat at magpapasalamat kami sa isa’t isa and that was a good call, di ba? ‘Yung growth natin, iba na siya ngayon. I really wish them well,” he said.
However, even after the split, the singer only wishes nothing but the best for the success of the band and his former bandmates.
“Hindi na magbabalik yung dating Callalily,” he said regarding the idea of a band reunion in the future.
LILY Music told GMA News Online that they will release an official statement soon.
“We just have to consult with our lawyers," they said.
The company Lx2 who manages Lily announced that they will hold auditions for a vocalist at several malls in the Philippines throughout July and August.
