Director Brillante Ma. Mendoza will join other luminaries in discussing the evolution of “bold” movies in the launch of Boy Villasanta’s newest book, “SekSinema.”
It’s an honor for this writer to announce to all and sundry that internationally acclaimed director Brillante Ma. Mendoza, award-winning actress Maria Isabel Lopez and a host of other local and international guests will grace in the virtual book launch of his latest work, “SekSinema (Gender Images in Philippine Sex Cinema Enfolding Pandemia)” on Wednesday (December 15, 2021) at 1:00 p.m. Philippine standard time.
Brillante will talk about his involvement as one of the subjects in the book and his evolvement as a filmmaker in creating sex cinema while beauty queen-actress Maribel Lopez will share her impressions on the book and her past and present experiences in doing bold roles onscreen.
Newbies Cara Gonzales and Rash Flores of the erotic drama “Palitan,” directed by Mendoza for Viva Films, will also join in the panel composed of the author of the book, journalists, film critics and other authorities in Philippine and world cinema.
Lopez will stream live from Sebastopol, California while Brillante, Cara and Rash will beam from the Philippines.
Maria Isabel is scheduled to arrive in the country after Christmas but she has to undergo quarantine until January 2, 2022.
