CJ ENM together with 28 Squared Studios of Richard Juan will be holding an audition for the upcoming reality competition show ‘Boys Planet’ to form an international boy group.
CJ ENM, a top entertainment agency in South Korea, will be collaborating with Richard Juan’s 28 Squared Studios together with 360 Entertainment and Bhouse Studio to hold auditions in the country to create the next international K-pop boy group as announced on September 9.
MNET announced in early August that a global K-Pop project called ‘Boys Planet’ "that will launch the next biggest boy band” will be in the works after the huge success of ‘Girls Planet 999’ which launched the girl group Kep1er.
“I strongly believe we have many world-class Filipino talents out here and it’s high time to further show the world what we can do,” said 28 Squared Studios co-founder and CEO Richard Juan.
“Hopefully, this Philippine audition in one of the biggest talent competitions on Mnet, or even in Korea, will create the path for Filipino talents to raise our flag in the K-Pop scene,” he added
‘Boys Planet’ had its initial process started in the Asian Pacific as BHouse and 360 Entertainment have already held auditions in Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and now in the Philippines
North America auditions also started as the ‘Boys Planet’ team and WAKEONE Entertainment teamed up to hold auditions during KCON 2022 LA, the world’s No.1 K-culture festival, from August 19th through the 21st at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Crypto.com Arena.
The Philippines audition will be on September 14, Wednesday at True Creators Studio with applicants expected to be at least 13 years old of any nationality to be able to join the audition.
Both amateur and professional performers are welcome and must be able to demonstrate their singing, rapping, or dancing skills.
The final members of the debuting boy group will be chosen by a global audience and will make their official debut in 2023.
