The 24-year-old described her masterpiece as “a thank you to fans who have long awaited for my solo performance and something only I, Lisa, could do.”

KNOWN best for her explosive dance moves and rapping skills in the worldwide K-Pop sensation BLACKPINK, Lisa finally gets her solo debut with ‘La Lisa’.

Singer Lisa is the latest member of Blackpink to make her solo debut with her newest single album, Lalisa.

The singer dropped the music video for the title track on Friday (September 10).

The two-track package aims to talk about who Lisa is, as both the name for the album and its title track go by the singer’s real name, which is why her debut album gives her butterflies, she said during an online press conference held Friday.

According to NME, an online magazine that featured Lisa, ‘Lalisa’ was written by frequent BLACKPINK collaborators 24, Bekuh Boom and Teddy Park, while ‘Money’ was helmed by 24, Boom, R.Tee and Vince.

During the press conference, Lisa also spoke about what she hopes to achieve through her solo debut.

“Rather than focusing on rankings, I hope that people will see that Lisa has this side to her as well. If I can make BLINKs happy with my songs and performances, I’m satisfied,” she said.

The 24-year-old described her masterpiece as “a thank you to fans who have long awaited for my solo performance and something only I, Lisa, could do.”

She added that she wanted the album she put so much effort into to brim with the best side of her, saying “the solo album is just me. Lisa.”

In addition, Lisa also explained that her album is a mixture of brass riffs that spell out dynamic rhythms, with her aggressive rapping and dance moves and a few Thai elements peppered in it, such as the beats in the background.

When asked why the Southeast Asian country was a great inspiration for the song, Lisa said she wanted to combine her own culture with the beat to make her solo debut even more meaningful.

Lisa is now the second member of BLACKPINK to release a solo album. The first was the singer Rosé, who debuted two songs for her mini-mixtape last March. Jennie debuted her single ‘Solo’ last 2018.

Jisoo, the leader of the group, will be the final member of the quartet to make her solo debut, the group's label YG Entertainment confirmed last year.
