Belle Mariano bested 175 actors and named as one of the Outstanding Asian Stars Awards for the upcoming Seoul International Drama Awards 2022.
Kapamilya actress Belle Mariano has officially been named as one of the Outstanding Asian Stars Awardees for her performance in the series “He’s into Her” for the upcoming 17th Seoul International Drama Awards 2022 on September 22.
The actress was one of the five winners announced by the award-giving body including Wallace Chung of China, Yusei Yagi of Japan, Alice Ko of Taiwan and Krit Amnuaydechkorn of Thailand.
There were a total 175 actors competing and were selected by global fans from five Asian countries during a virtual voting period held last month.
“Here are the winners of SDA 2022 Outstanding Korean Drama, Actors, OST, [five] actors representing [five] Asian countries (regions), K-pop Idol who led the Korean Wave as a K-Pop star and actors after fierce voting!” the statement read.
“We would like to express our gratitude to the fans who [voted]. Hearty congratulations to our winners!”
Rise Artists Studio, ABS-CBN Films’ talent management arm, confirmed the award in an Instagram post.
“Congrats Belle for winning the 'OUTSTANDING ASIAN STAR' in the Seoul International Drama Awards,” Rise Artists said. “Rise Fam is very proud of you!”
According to Rise, Belle is the first Filipina to win the award and the fifth celebrity from the Philippines, joining Gabby Concepcion, Dennis Trillo, Alden Richards, and Dingdong Dantes as recipients of the same award.
The Seoul International Drama Awards is a prominent drama festival that aims to unite global television drama productions and pave the way for cultural diversity.
The event is organized by Seoul Drama Awards Organizing Committee and Korean Broadcasters Association, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and various Korean broadcast stations.
Despite the early announcement, the winners of Seoul International Drama Awards 2022 will be recognized and presented during the award ceremony, on September 22, to be broadcasted live in KBS 2TV and Seoul International Drama Awards’ official YouTube channel.
