Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards team up for remake of Korean classic.

SOMETIMES when we’re lucky, two stars collide and does not result into chaos.

Two of the brightest stars in the movie industry, the pairing of Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards on the silver screen is huge not only for the Philippine entertainment industry but also for the two stars.

This movie is made possible by GMA Films, Viva Films and APT Entertainment collaboration.

Is network wars a passing fad

As we see more and more pairings from opposing networks, the Philippine entertainment is putting a step forward towards what the fans are asking for. With ‘A Moment to Remember’ in the works, all eyes are on this new pairing and collaboration of these two giant networks.

Probably one of the most successful team-ups in recent memory is the 2019 mega box office hit ‘Hello Love Goodbye’ starring Alden Richards and Kathryn Bernardo.

Not only did it garner major national awards but it also received huge acknowledgement internationally.

‘Hello Love Goodbye’ still holds the title of highest grossing Filipino movie of all time not only in the Philippines but also in Australia, New Zealand and Britain.

Like the classic saying “two heads are better than one”, this project is the best example on how network wars should be a thing of the past. Especially with the economic crisis that our economy is experiencing right now, a big boost from the entertainment industry is welcomed with arms wide open.

A Moment to Remember is an instant classic

After being released in 2004, “A Moment to Remember” was a huge hit in the Korean film industry, topping the box office and it became the 5th highest grossing film in 2004. It was also a huge hit in Japan as the film was adapted from a Japanese drama “Pure Soul”.

15 years after its release, “A Moment to Remember” will be reimagined by Director Nuel Naval alongside the multi-awarded screenwriter Mel Del Rosario.

The pairing of Nuval and Del Rosario is not new in remaking Korean hit movies. In 2019, they successfully adapted the hit movie “Miracle in Cell No.7” which earned them an entry to the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival.

With the instant hit equation of joining two of the biggest stars of this generation remaking a Korean cult film, the whole entertainment industry is on their toes for this project.

Not only will it be measuring Bea and Alden’s chemistry but also how much the team who brought ‘A Moment to Remember’ to life will be delivering in terms of success in the box-office.

Bea Alonzo and Alden Richards are set to get the cameras rolling on March 14 as their official start of shooting. Fans might need to wait until the end of the year before the release of “A Moment to Remember”. (NP)
