In a virtual forum Wednesday morning about “Philippine Sex Cinema and Feminism” hosted by Gem Suguitan and this writer sat as panelist, Chandler Booth, the American boyfriend of actress Mara Lopez surprised his girlfriend to say that she is his type of a girl.
“She’s an ideal woman,” Chandler said something to that effect without batting an eyelash.
But he qualified that he and Mara haven’t talked about marriage yet.
They said that they’re just enjoying every minute of their togetherness.
While Lopez has returned to the Philippines to shoot a film, Booth was left behind in the US.
“Miss ko na nga siya. Pero siyempre, may online communication naman kami. Buti na lang (I already miss him. But of course, we have online communication. I am thankful about it),” she quipped.
As a young actress who has projected sexiness onscreen, Mara said she volunteered to screen for Chandler her film “Palitan” which she had daring scenes. “I guess that’s the last film he would see me in that kind of role,” she chuckled.
It’s because, she said, most of her roles after the Ato Bautista-directed film for Cinema One Originals in 2012 had to baring scenes anymore.
Mara was introduced to Chandler by a common Filipino friend at a wedding in the US.
