As a follow through to my earlier story, action star/comedian Amay Bisaya is alive and kicking and this was confirmed by entertainment writer Gerry Olea who went straight to the actor's kin to validate the morbid news, which he found as completely wrong.
Amay is still alive.
According to Gerry, Bisaya said the news of his death was a smear campaign against him. The comic said there are many who want to tarnish his reputation.
In fact, Amay said, he is not even sick and would be doing a film soon.
The news that Amay is gone stemmed from the birthday party of Manny Torres, father of Aimee Torres, the actress and original singer of the hit song “Pusong Bato.”
“Kasi po, sa party ng Daddy ko, sinabi ni Francis K (an actor and a disc jockey at DWIZ), na nabalitaan niyang patay na si Amay (Because at the party of my dad, Francis K said that he heard somewhere that Amay was already dead),” recalled Aimee.
Francis K’s bearing of the news also reached some of Manny’s guests like singer Hannagene Villame, actor-producer Jess Sanchez and film director Jose “Kaka” Balagtas who believed the announcement.
