All TWICE members have decided to renew their contracts under JYPE after seven years in the music industry.
K-pop girl group TWICE has decided to renew as a group under their agency JYP Entertainment before their contracts expire later this year according to a representative.
JYPE stated on this day, "Ahead of TWICE's exclusive contract expirations coming up this fall, all of the members decided to complete their renewals. TWICE, which played a pivotal role in confirming JYP Entertainment's top status as a K-Pop agency, and JYPE, which acted as a firm pillar of support for TWICE's growth as a representative girl group in the K-Pop scene, came to an agreement to renew based on mutual trust and loyalty from both sides and a certainty for future progress."
TWICE is composed of nine members, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu, and was formed through the television program ‘Sixteen’ in 2015.
The group debuted in the Korean pop industry in October of the same year with their extended play ‘The Story Begins,’ and since then, they have received numerous grand prize awards, sold over an accumulated 10 million albums, and became the first K-pop girl group to hold a Japanese dome tour.
The renewal is bound to happen coming off from a very successful first half of 2022 as TWICE became the first female K-pop artist in history to ever hold a stadium concert in the United States, with their encore concert, ‘TWICE 4TH WORLD TOUR ‘Ⅲ’ ENCORE.’
The encore tour followed their record-setting concert TWICE ‘III,’ setting the record for the most-attended North American tour by any Korean girl group in history.
Meanwhile, just last month, Nayeon became the first TWICE member to make a solo debut with the release of her mini album ‘IM NAYEON’, together with the lead single ‘Pop!’, and topping various charts including Billboard.
