Aimee Torres, the original singer of "Pusong Bato," whose family had a dispute with composer Renee de la Rosa over the ownership rights of the song, said she has already moved forward from that rough time.

ONE of the earliest persons to respond to the news that singer-composer Renee de la Rosa, also known as Alon had died was chanteuse Aimee Torres, original interpreter of chart topping hit “Pusong Bato”.

“May he rest in peace,” said Aimee in a text message.

Torres then requested if she could just answer later the query on what memorable experiences she keeps about Renee, because she was in a hospital at the time accompanying her younger brother Bryan, who complained about severe stomach ache.

After about three hours, Aimee went back and stated her extended thoughts on the passing of his late composer.

“I am out of words on what to say. This came as a surprise. But nevertheless, one should be aware of what’s happening to the world now and take lessons from it,” she opened up.

Torres said she, her family and de la Rosa might have gone through rough sailing before but this is the time to reconsider forgiveness.

Alon’s spat with the Torreses started when he also recorded “Pusong Bato” years after Aimee sang it commercially.

She recalled that they already acquired the composition from Renee and therefore, they have the right to its ownership.

De la Rosa went on with his promotion of the interpretation of his musical creation.

That started a public word war between Alon and Aimee.

The songstress said everything is already water under the bridge.

“I had moved forward a long time ago, and I hope he did the same. As always, forgiveness, consideration and understanding one another makes everyone happy,” said Aimee.
“May God bless him and all his loved ones that are left behind,” she prayed.

Instead of wallowing in the pains of the past, music, Aimee believed, heals all wounds.

“Let MUSIC stay alive. Ipagpatuloy nating buhayin ang ‘PUSONG BATO,’” she encouraged.
