ADELE finally says hello from the other side as she dropped a surprise teaser for her upcoming single “Easy On Me”.
Marking her first release since her album “25” from 2015, “Easy On Me” was confirmed by the singer-songwriter herself in her official Instagram account.
The full song is expected to be released on October 15, 2021.
Alongside the release date and title for her comeback song, Adele shared a 21-second black-and-white video that contains a piano-led instrumental.
The visuals see the star put a cassette tape in a car stereo before travelling down a country lane.
Mysterious global advertising campaigns were seen in different places this week which heightened the speculations of Adele’s upcoming album.
The giant billboards saw the number “30” projected onto landmarks in the United Kingdom and United States including the Tate Modern and the Brooklyn Bridge, appearing to confirm the title of her fourth album.
The Grammy winner has famously named each of her albums — 19, 21 and 25 — after the age she began working on them.
While Adele’s fourth album is unlikely to be her signature ‘despise you all’ theme and heartbreaking lyrics, critics have been guessing whether transformations in the singer’s personal life might prompt a move away from her trademark sound.
It is still worth remembering though the circumstances that happened in her life in the 5 years she stepped away from the limelight. Adele and her ex-husband, charity CEO Simon Konecki, divorced in 2019 in which they share an eight-year-old son.
She has also undergone a huge physical transformation, as she acknowledged when she guest-hosted Saturday Night Live in October 2020.
“I know I look really, really different since you last saw me,” she said in her opening monologue. “But actually, because of all the Covid restrictions, I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me. And this is the half I chose.”
It is not a secret how her fans are hugely anticipating Adele’s next album.
Her historic album 25, took home Album of the Year at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards. She also won Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Vocal Album in 2017.
Worldwide success was greatly enjoyed by her singles in the album including “Hello”, “Send My Love (To Your New Lover)”, and “When We Were Young”.
