Known for her roles in popular films like ‘White Slavery,’ ‘Santa Juana,’ and ‘Private Show,’ 58-year old actress is stepping away from the limelight. She started her career back in 1984 when she was casted as the lead for ‘Chicas’ by Baby Pascual Films and Associates.

Jaclyn announced her retirement with a simple farewell on her Facebook and Instagram pages.

Attached is the video of her red-carpet moment at the previous GMA Thanksgiving Gala, Jaclyn chose the instrumental version of Jose Mari's hit song "Beautiful Girl" as background music in her retirement announcement video.

"I am retiring, maraming salamat po," Jaclyn wrote.

She continued in the comments communicating her feelings regarding her retirement.

“masakit but..i know I have to go…..”
“I just sooooo luv Andi and Gwen most and foremost to have come into this,” she also added. The actress admitted it was a painful decision but one she needed to make as her daughters Andi and Gwen are her top priorities.

Since her debut in the big screen, we proved that there is no role too big or too small for an actress brimming with talent as she handled all the types of characters entrusted to her with unmatched skill.

In 2016, she made history by being the first Filipina to win the Best Actress award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. She portrayed the character of a drug-dealing matriarch in a Manila slum for the movie ‘Ma' Rosa,’ forced to sell drugs in order to make ends meet but who then gets caught in a web of police corruption.

Bolera, GMA-7's primetime drama sports series that ended on August 26, 2022, is Jaclyn's last television project. While the Vivamax movie ‘Tahan’ was the last film project she did in her colorful and successful 38-year acting career.
