Barbie Imperial allegedly assaulted Debbie Garcia in a restopub in Quezon City and is now facing multiple complaints.
Actress Debbie Garcia filed multiple charges against Kapamilya actress Barbie Imperial as the latter allegedly assaulted the former in a Quezon City pub last October 28.
Garcia filed a slight physical injuries case, grave oral defamation and grave slander by deed against Imperial before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office after a CCTV footage of the altercation was leaked on social media on November 2.
Viva Artists Agency (VAA) also backed their talent, Garcia, saying that it does not condone violence and that legal actions will soon take place.
“VAA therefore fully supports its artist, Debbie Garcia, in taking legal action against her attacker in an incident of violence last [Oct.] 28 (Friday) at a gastropub in Quezon City. Debbie is set to lodge a complaint against the other person with the assistance of her counsel on [Nov.] 2, 2022 (Wednesday),” VAA stated.
“VAA believes that Debbie has been at the receiving end of physical and verbal attacks in the said incident,” it added.
The agency also requested the public to refrain from circulating copies of the video of the incident online, and let the issue be resolved legally.
Meanwhile, Imperial and her management, Star Magic, has not released any statement yet regarding the issue.
Imperial was known to be jealous of Garcia during her relationship with actor Diego Loyzaga as the two starred in the Vivamax film "The Wife."
Barbie and Diego eventually broke up in December of 2021.
In an interview with MJ Marfori, Garcia denied that she and Loyzaga had a relationship while Loyzaga was currently dating Imperial and was firm that she was not the cause of the breakup between the ex-couple.
Debbie stressed that she and Diego were just friends throughout the time they were working together.
