Pop star Aaron Carter found dead by the LA County Sheriff Department at his Lancaster home

Child pop star Aaron Carter who rose to fame as a singer and television personality was found dead at his Southern California home on November 5 at around 11 a.m.

The 34-year-old was found at a bathtub by responders to a call for help at Carter's Lancaster home, a desert city about 70 miles (112 kilometers) north of downtown Los Angeles, said Deputy Alejandra Parra of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A statement from Carter’s representatives confirmed the singer’s death, specifically his fiance Melanie Martin.

"We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality," Martin said iSaturday. "Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated."

Parra added that officials could not immediately confirm the identification of the victim and that the house sitter was the one who saw Carter first inside the tub and tried resuscitation but was unsuccessful.

Homicide is currently handling the investigation as the standard procedure at this time.

Carter is the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, and rose to fame after performing as an opening act for Britney Spears as well as his brother's boy band, and recorded several hits including "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)" and "I Want Candy."

He was also known for his TV roles on teen shows such as "Lizzie McGuire" on Disney Channel and "7th Heaven," which debuted on The WB Television Network.

The Carters also started their own reality series on E! Entertainment Television, "House of Carters,” including siblings Nick, B.J., Leslie and Aaron's twin sister Angel.

Fame, however, did a number to the young actor as at the age of 15, Aaron had been photographed getting high on marijuana and was arrested twice — first in 2008 on marijuana charges and then in 2017 for DUI and marijuana possession.

Carter was then in and out of rehab after admitting to being addicted to Xanax, Oxycodone and huffing.

Family problems also haunted Aaron, money issues persisted and his sister Leslie died of an overdose in 2012 and his father died unexpectedly in 2017.
