He’s got Visayan roots, too

I’d like to think that it’s the meeting of the north and the south poles that matter most from a sophomoric soothsaying.

The directional tendencies through geomancy makes a relationship more formidable and purpose-driven.

Talk about feng shui about the romance and eventual marriage of actors Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza.

Now that they’re Mr. & Mrs. Arjo Atayde by virtue of their Christian wedding at the Baguio Mountain Lodges one makes sense of the direction of one’s union contextualizing on their origins.

Let us remember that Arjo has Visayan blood by virtue of the kinship he keeps with her mom, actress Sylvia Sanchez.

Sylvia, Josette Campo Atayde in real life, was born in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte that makes her a true blue Visayan.

Bulakenya, through and through

Maine is a full-blooded Bulakenya having been born in Sta. Maria, Bulacan to parents Mary Ann Capili, who owns several gas stations in the province, and Teodoro Mendoza, an engineer who manages a construction business.

Clearly, Anjo Atayde from the south met Maine Mendoza from the north thereby attracting opposite poles which are easily favorable to the couple.

Considering that Arjo and Maine finally exchanged their “I dos” in a central summer capital not only of the country, Baguio but located in the northern part of the archipelago as well.

Isn’t that a perfect meeting of the directions not only of the hearts but minds as well?

We’re no psychic but the terrestrial compatibilities of Arjo and Maine are evident in matchmaking.

During the Christian nuptials of Arjo and Maine, other aligned stars and celebs representing multimedia establishments trekked up Baguio City just to be with an unforgettable and worthwhile event such as this like the presence of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, GMA Network’s boss Atty. Felipe Gozun, ABS-CBN’s Cory Valenzuela-Vidanes and Carlo Katigbak, and Deo Endrinal, Pauleen Luna, Maricel Soriano, Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Tang Adriano, and many more.

By just looking at their names, it explains the meeting and collaborating as well of TV networks formerly competitors like ABS-CBN and GMA Network to create more well-meaning shows for the audiences just like the unionizing of Maine and erstwhile GMA Network/TAPE talent now with TV5 and Arjo, a contract artist of ABS-CBN.

Hopefully, the fusion of these hearts and minds congregating and witnessing the Maine-Arjo union could finally liberate the consciousness of the Filipino people about genuine independence, progress and development from local media contribution.
