The last 22 editions of the Spanish Film Festival have been all been a feat.
What with a screening of the bests in Spanish cinema, past and present.
There might have been some hits and misses or booking problems like policies of ownership and releasing of films of major global companies, generally, though, the annual Spanish Film Festival has been a success.
The 23rd year of the fest, also known as Pelicula-Pelikula, promises to be another interesting edition with the showing of the film on billiards, "7 mesas de billar frances'" a compelling 2007 drama on resilience, family and rebuilding in the face of loss directed by Gracia Querejeta.
"7 mesas de billar francez" will be screened during presscon if the Pelicula-Pelikula Spanish Film Festival on September 24, 2024 at the Red Carpet Cinema of Shangri-La Plaza.
On top of the festival is a more than a month-long celebration of the cultural exchange between Spain and the Philippines in a display of artifacts that fossilized the relationship between the two countries.
Billed as "What is a Filmfest Like this Doing in a City Like This?! Posters of Pelicula-Pelikula Spanish Film Festival," the exhibit runs from September 5 to October 31, 2024 at the Instituto de Cervantes in Intramuros, and concurrently, according to publicist Eunice Helera, at Shangri-La Plaza from October 5 to 13, 2024 during the occasion of the 2024 Spanish Film Festival.
According to Helera, "this exhibition offers a fascinating journey through the visual history of the Película>Pelikula Spanish Film Festival, showcasing the creative evolution of our festival through its iconic posters and graphic collaterals. It's an opportunity to reflect on how the festival has grown over the years and its role in fostering cultural exchange between Spain and the Philippines."
