"Ikinasal na pala si Maxine Medina, ano (So, Maxine Medina got married already?)," exclaimed our family friend Estrella Gualberto Salcedo Inandan, simply called Ma'am to her kith and kin.
Ma'am Nene was referring to the 2016 Binibining Pilipinas-Universe Maxine Medina.
"At apo ko pa sa pamangkin ang napangasawa niya (And she got married to a great, great grandnephew)," informed Inandan.
Maxine exchanged "I dos" with Timmy Llana, a native of Rosario, Batangas.
According to Ma'am Nene, Timmy is the son of her first cousin from the Gualberto side.
"Naku, napakalaki ng lupa ng mga Llana na 'yan sa Batangas. Sa kanila ang kalawakan ng dalampasigan at kalupaan ng Laiya lalo na ang kilalang Laiya Beach (Oh! The Llanas own big tracks of land in Batangas.
The wide seashores and lands of Laiya are theirs especially the famous Laiya Beach)," described Ma'am.
She didn't expect, though, Inandan said, to get invited to the wedding of Maxine and Timmy.
"'Ala, e, sila-sila na lang 'yon. Hayaan mo na sila. Ipinagdarasal ko na lang sila (Oh, that's theirs alone. We just leave them. I just pray for them)," said Ma'am.
Maxine and Timmy were wed at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Antipolo City which was attended by their respective families and friends like beauty contest patron Jonas Gaffud and big shot apparel businessman Ben Chan.
The Llanas also had their wedding in Palawan late last week.
