The recognition brought forth the notion that marketing and business are not just about numbers and sales but also about the depth of the messages they convey.

THE Asia Pacific Tambuli Awards Night was held last June 4, 2021 to celebrate the purposeful values of multinational companies all around the world as seen in their marketing campaigns that are creative, deep, and meaningful.

The awards were started back in 2005 by the University of Asia and the Pacific’s School of Communication, but later on in 2012 they opened it up to the entire Asia-Pacific region.

The awards committee has since opened it up to other countries in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Australia as well.

The executive jury this year, headed by Mark Tutssel, global executive chairman of Leo Burnett, include Merlee Jayme, the first Filipina global president of Dentsu McGarryBowen; Malcolm Poynton, global CCO of Cheil Worldwide; Tripti Lochan, the Co-CEO in Asia for YMLY&R; Emily Poon, president of Public Relations and Influence at Ogilvy Asia; Steve Coll, head of Creative Shop at Facebook – New Zealand; and Kuo Hi Lee, head of Project House in Volkswagen China.

Awards

Neil Trinidad, CMO of Lazada Philippines, was awarded as Chief Marketing Communications Officer of the Year.

Crismer Tiria, the senior marketing manager at Johnson & Johnson Philippines, alongside Mar Angelo Corazo, the global digital marketing manager at Unilever Global Headquarters in the Netherlands, were both awarded Young Marketing Leaders of the Year.

Cheil Worldwide, a global marketing company based in South Korea, under the Samsung Group was awarded Network of the Year.

Leo Burnett Manila was awarded Agency of the Year, while Samsung was awarded the Advertiser of the Year.

Telenor Pakistan and Ogilvy Pakistan for “Naming the Invisible by Digital Birth Registration”, a campaign that advocates for childrens’ social issues in Pakistan were awarded the Carmencita Esteban Platinum Award. (EFO)
