After a standstill because of the deadly invasion of the COVID-19 pandemic after its maiden awarding in 2019, the Philippine LEAF (Live Entertainment, Arts, Festival) Awards will bounce back next year for more dynamic and honorable recognition among productions in live shows across the country.

According to multimedia artist Frank G. Rivera, one of the founding members of the body, LEAF will see more exceptional selections of live entertainment projects in the industry.

"There are many live productions around the Philippines that need to be validated and given due recognition," said Frank.

Meanwhile, fellow artist Sonny Valencia, another LEAF founding member, announced the addition of fashion as a field in live gigs.

So the awards org's acronym in letter F extends to fashion shows and other displays of ramp activities.

"We would like to watch all these live productions so we take time in going to different places and venues where they are staged," volunteered Sonny.

Integrity, creativity and excellence are the cornerstones of the choices of the members of the jury, according to Valencia, President Emeritus of the group.

"We feel and think that there are many deserving live entertainers who must be given recognition," Sonny said.

The first LEAF award was held at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium in RCBC Plaza in Makati. However, the awards were abruptly halted in three years by the health crisis which greatly affected the world's arts and culture industries.

The 2nd LEAF award will be held on February 8, 2024 at the Metropolitan Theater in Manila.

Its vernacular event description is "Tertulia at Parangal," an evening soiree and awarding ceremony.
