ONCE her congressional commitments to her constituents in the lone district of Lipa City in Batangas are over in June of this year, Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos will have more time to smell the flowers in her garden in Lipa City.
This she said, in more ways than one, in symbolic statement every time she faced up with her followers on social media. It was Vilma’s son Luis Manzano who initiated and composed the socmed platforms of his mom like a vlog and a regular Facebook Live with him if she isn’t busy.
Of course, Santos will always be a public servant in the eyes of her fellow Lipeños and Lipeñas and she’d do socio-civic work for her beloved city even outside her official function.
Smelling the flowers doesn’t necessarily mean literally and leisurely tending to her garden but living life freely, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Vi is also a health buff—appreciating as well the beauty of nature—so she puts on her jogging pants every morning and cycling and sprinting in their private gym in Lipa.
Fitness is a family pursuit for the Santoses, the Manzanos and Rectos right in their Lipa digs.
This 2022, Ate Vi is ready to do a film because she has all the creative time to concentrate on one of her passions. Producers have been meeting up with her for a film project—even just one—to shoot in the right time and the right place.
It is the time of the year when Baby Vi sheds off heavy political baggage to be able to go back to the art of filmmaking.
Her Vilmanias are patiently awaiting.
