Even if he has changed his screen name to Ice Seguerra, Aiza Seguerra, the child star will always be remembered as a CALABARZON baby, one who was given pride to her dad’s town of Calauag in Quezon Province, one of the geo-political members of the region.

From being a child and eventually as a mature actress, Ice has evolved in his craft not only as a versatile performer but as a filmmaker. With a few short projects, Seguerra is now a director, not only in movies but onstage as well.

The latest event he tackled at the helm was the 6th Film Ambassadors’ Night of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) held at the newly restored Metropolitan Theater.

Film Ambassadors’ Night is a recognition of local filmmakers’ achievements in foreign movie events.

The recent event was perceived to be a successful one Ice has ever directed with some of the brightest luminaries awarded with such plums as Camera Obscura (John Arcilla for winning the Coppa Volpi Best Actor at the 78th Venice International Film Festival for the Erik Matti masterpiece “OTJ: The Missing 8”); Ilaw ng Industriya (Rosa Rosal for her durability in the industry and inspiring story as an actress) and Haligi ng Industriya (Jesse Ejercito for his unending support to the local movie art and business).

Other outstanding recipients of A-List achievements were Brillante Ma. Mendoza for “Gensan Punch,” Carlo Francisco Manatad for “Kun Maupay Man It Panahon” etc.

Production staff Ken Abilar has assessed the significance of the gig and praised Ice for her directorial passion of the gig: It's the sweat and tears. The congratulatory remarks from strangers. The finale songs. The rehearsal nerves. The opening night flowers. The pencil marked script. The need to perform and the PASSION that helps us to NEVER GIVE UP!!!”

Now that GMA Network has added a more comprehensive Regional TV based in Batangas to cover the whole CALABARZON, this event is a content that mustn’t be sidetracked because there were many CALABARZON subjects among the awardees.
