Kalibo, Lezo, Malay, Batan, Ibajay, Libacao, and Makato, amidst the daily rhythm of school bells and the eager chatter of students, lies a group of unsung heroes — the teachers — who have been quietly shaping the minds and hearts of Aklan's youth.

This year, ten of these remarkable educators have been recognized as Aklan's Ten Outstanding Mentors (ATOM), a testament to their unwavering dedication and exemplary performance in the teaching profession.

Initiated in 2014 by the DepEd-Schools Division Office of Aklan and the Razon Tumbocon-Haresco Foundation, under the leadership of Aklan 2nd District Rep. Teodorico Haresco, Jr., the ATOM awards honors leadership and excellence in the teaching profession.

For the past decade, this prestigious recognition has shone a spotlight on educators who go above and beyond to inspire and empower their students.

This year's batch of ATOM awardees represents a diverse array of talents and expertise, hailing from nine school districts across Aklan. From Master Teachers to seasoned educators and promising newcomers, each awardee has left an indelible mark on their respective communities through their passion for teaching and commitment to educational excellence.

Among the distinguished awardees are: Master Teacher I Villa Rose Delfin from Linabuan Norte Elementary School; Teacher III Jafet Solidum from Maloco National High School; Master Teacher I Joecyl Philip Lauron from Batan Academy A National School; Master Teacher I Elyn Bersales from Naisud Central School, and Master Teacher II Judito Belarmino from Kalibo Pilot Elementary School. These educators have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in their classrooms, inspiring generations of students to reach for the stars.

Joining them in this esteemed honor are: Teacher II Mikko Jan Lopez from Regional Science High School VI; Teacher I Leonelyn Monleon from Loctuga National High School; Master Teacher I Dionadith Gay Isturis from Lezo Integrated School; Master Teacher I Anjhielyn Mae Cahilig from Makato Integrated School, and Teacher III Churchill Gumboc from Malay National High School. Their tireless dedication and commitment to their craft have earned them the admiration and respect of their peers and students alike.

As we prepare to gather at the Tangalan Sports and Cultural Center on April 27, 2024, to celebrate the exemplary dedication and performance of these outstanding educators, let us take a moment to reflect on the profound impact they have had on the lives of countless students.

Theirs is a legacy of excellence, a testament to the transformative power of education, and a reminder that the influence of a dedicated teacher extends far beyond the confines of the classroom.

To the ten outstanding mentors of Aklan, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and deepest gratitude. Your passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence serve as an inspiration to us all. Here's to celebrating your remarkable achievements and the countless lives you have touched along the way.
