K-pop girl tests positive for COVID-19

TWICE member Sana stays in Japan after contracting COVID-19

K-pop girl group member Sana from TWICE tested positive for COVID-19 yesterday after their three-day Tokyo Dome '4TH WORLD TOUR III' sold- out concert in Japan, according to her label JYP Entertainment.

In the statement, the girls were on their way home to Korea after their Tokyo Dome concert when Sana received the diagnosis and was told that she has to stay behind to self-isolate while recovering.

All eight members took PCR test results before flying home, and only Sana’s turned out positive, forcing her to stay as the rest of the group flew back to Korea that day.

“We are sorry to inform you that TWICE member SANA has tested positive for COVID-19 today (April 26th) after PCR [polymerase chain reaction] testing for departure,” said JYP Entertainment.

“Sana has received her third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and is currently quarantined and recuperating, following the disease control guidelines. We sincerely apologize for causing concern to our fans and related people,” the statement added.

JYP Entertainment also mentioned that during their stay in Japan, all TWICE members underwent antigen testing every day and all tested negative during all three days of the concert.

TWICE is currently finishing their second global concert tour, promoting their latest album, ‘Formula of Love O+T=<3’ which kicked off in December 2021 in Seoul, followed by five cities in the US, Tokyo and are now scheduled to hold their first-ever stadium concert in Los Angeles on May 14 and 15 as an encore to their record-breaking world tour.
