Swab testing and quarantine still required in Tolosa, Leyte

AS THE Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) relaxes travel requirements, the municipal government of Tolosa, Leyte said they will still follow the provincial ordinance for travelers to the province.

This means the local government unit of Tolosa would still require the mandatory swab testing and quarantine for arriving residents as prevention against COVID-19.

According to Tolosa Mayor Ofelia Alcantara, Leyte mayors are currently discussing with Governor Dominic Petilla for a unified localization of the National IATF.

The municipal IATF is still reviewing the municipality’s COVID-19 data in order to provide an appropriate response with the help of experts in regards to the local policy for COVID Prevention, Isolation, Detection, Treatment and Reintegration.

The National IATF’s decision has sparked a divided opinion from the public as several people supported the idea for a faster transportation while others are hesitant as they take into account the fact there is still no vaccine and COVID is still spreading.

“Mas matagal mawawala ang COVID lalo na ngayon kung mas magiging lenient sila sa transportation, let us not forget na dida tun nag start pag spread an urog na cases ha mga municipalities,” a Tolosa resident said. (JKA)
