The results of the monthly Labor Force Survey will serve as basis for planning, formulation of policies, and implementation of programs to create gainful employment and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos particularly those who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The regional statistics office in Eastern Visayas has expressed high hopes that the statistical information it will generate from its ongoing Labor Force Survey (LFS) in the region this month will help guide policy makers and program implementors come up with gainful livelihood and employment interventions.

The 20-day survey from May 8 to 27 is expected to provide high frequency statistical information on the Philippine labor market.

According to PSA Regional Director Wilma Pirante, the results of the monthly LFS will serve as basis for planning, formulation of policies, and implementation of programs to create gainful employment and bolster livelihood opportunities for the Filipinos particularly those who were adversely affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

Perante said all PSA personnel and hired statistical researchers who have been deployed were all in good health condition. “They will strictly follow precautionary measures against COVID-19, such as wearing of face mask and face shield, physical distancing, proper hygiene and sanitation, and wearing of PSA ID. They shall likewise observe all protocols laid down by the Local Government Units (LGUs).”
