Singer, music artist, and arts manager Michelle Junia—also known in the entertainment and cultural scenes as Nikki Junia—might not have spent her growing up years in Leyte province, specifically in the hometowns of her forebears, Tacloban City and Tolosa but, she would always want to share her stories with her town, province and city mates.

She would always consider herself a Taclobanon, a Leyteña, after all.

Like her pride in seeing her daughter, Micka Yngson academically excels in her chosen field as a graduate of AB Psychology from the De La Salle University in Taft Avenue.

Even in virtual commencement exercises, Nikki was one hell of a proud mom when she witnessed the successful studies of her beloved child.

In her Facebook wall, Nikki, one of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), has these thoughts:

“Again, I am very proud of you anak (daughter) Micka Yngson for finishing AB Psychology (course you chose for yourself) in DLSU-Manila. May God bless the next chapter in your life as you fulfill His purpose for you!”

Nikki, owner and manager of Musikgarten Manila—a music school for kids and grown-ups alike—also shared her sentiments about her loved one’s kismet:

“My daughter! She is my best friend. I’m not sure what I did to deserve her but I thank God she is in my life. She’s loving, strong, and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I love her so much.”

From this column, congratulations, Micka!
