I am not God-fearing but God-loving. The word "FEAR" which comes from the old English was more closely related to the word "AWE" than the word "AFRAID." In the old Saxon, from which the word fear came, meant "AWE-INSPIRING," "BREATHTAKING," "OVERWHELMING."

When I think about my relationship with God, I do not feel a sense of fear or dread. Instead, I am filled with a deep sense of awe and reverence. I am in awe of the beauty and complexity of the world around me, and I am overwhelmed by the love and grace that God has shown me.

To me, being God-loving means embracing the idea that there is something greater than myself. It means recognizing that there is a divine presence in the world that is beyond my comprehension. This recognition fills me with a sense of wonder and humility.

When I look at the natural world, I am filled with awe. The vastness of the universe, the intricacy of a flower, the power of a storm – all of these things remind me of the greatness of God. They remind me that there is something beyond my understanding, something that is awe-inspiring and breathtaking.

But it is not just the natural world that fills me with awe. It is also the love and grace that God has shown me. I am overwhelmed by the fact that despite my flaws and mistakes, God still loves me unconditionally. This love is beyond anything I can comprehend, and it fills me with a deep sense of gratitude.

Being God-loving also means recognizing that I am a part of something greater than myself. It means understanding that my actions have consequences and that I have a responsibility to use my gifts and talents for the greater good. It means striving to live a life that is aligned with God's will and purpose.

In this sense, being God-loving is not about following a set of rules or living in fear of punishment. It is about living a life of love and service. It is about treating others with kindness and compassion, and it is about seeking justice and equality for all.

Being God-loving also means recognizing that I am not alone. It means understanding that God is always with me, guiding and supporting me through life's challenges. This knowledge gives me strength and comfort, and it allows me to face the uncertainties of life with courage and hope.
