The presidential spox, Atty. Harry Roque, says a survey by one of the country’s leading and “respected” public survey group, has named him the most trusted member of the President’s official family.

Going through the comments in Roque’s FB post, the unbelievers outnumbered the believers.

This reminded me of a story of a woman and her little girl visiting the cemetery. Curious, the little girl asked, “Mom, do they ever bury two people in the same grave?’

“Of course not, anak, asking in return, why would you think so?”

“The tombstone I saw back there said ‘here lies a lawyer and an honest man’. ”

oooOOooo

More on lawyers in cemeteries: One lawyer named Strange wanted inscribed in his epitaph – “Here lies an honest man and a lawyer”.

The stonecutter refused saying it is against the law to bury two people in the same grave, however, suggesting “Here lies an honest lawyer”.

The lawyer rejected the suggestion saying that won’t let people know who it is.

“They certainly will,” answered the stonecutter, “People will read it an exclaim, that’s Strange!”

oooOOooo

My neighbor caught up with me in my morning exercise last Friday.

A very conservative retiree, he did not surprise me with his doubts on the government handling of vaccine purchase and distribution.

He asked, if he gets the vaccine does it mean — One, No need to wear face mask? Two, No need for social distancing?, Three, Can join groups in church activities and in social gatherings? and Four, walk in malls and eat in restaurants?

Answering his questions, he said reports have that the government’s answer to his queries is a “NO!”.

So he exclaimed, he the hell would he get vaccinated!

All the billions of pesos and for nothing? This looks like a big scam, he concluded.

oooOOooo

From the looks of it, it’s not only my neighbor who suspects a scam.

The senators think so, too, and is now in deep investigation, exposing the incompetence of a doctor and a general.

oooOOooo

Who said incompetence does not kill? Look at the tens of thousands getting sick of the coronavirus, the thousands who have died.

Neighbor countries have now rolled out their vaccination program.

In the Philippines, we are still talking and planning. If this is not incompetence, I would not know what it is.

oooOOooo

My turn to ask, what happens when a doctor and a general join forces to solve a crisis?

The country gets doctored documents and some generally get very filthy rich, my neighbor answered.
