The BHW Party-list is ready to aid in the vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 as parents and grandparents are encouraged to have their younger ones vaccinated.

The Department of Health (DoH) said Pfizer vaccines against COVID-19 are available for children ages 5 to 11.

Rep. Angelica Natasha-Co of the Barangay Healthworkers partylist advised the federations of BHW to let their mayors and barangay chairmen that the BHWs are prepared to help and improve the local Covid-19 booster coverage in their respective cities, towns, and barangays.

The BHW Partylist advocates the issues of health and wellness of the Filipinos, at the grassroots level.

The DoH has issued directions to the field, and BHWs are ready to assist and be deployed at children's vaccination locations.

Improving booster coverage in children will protect them from Covid-19 hospitalization and severe to critical symptoms, especially now that in-person classes are available at schools.

Meanwhile, Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes also urged the senior citizens to convince the parents of their grandchildren to get the kids vaccinated immediately at the nearest vaccination sites.

In that way, it will reassure fellow senior citizens that their unvaccinated grandchildren would finally be protected against the virus.

Co hopes that the DoH will also deploy the Moderna primary doses soon for young kids and the new bivalent boosters for adults and older kids.

“I also renew my call to the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (PH-FDA) for full approval of the Moderna and Pfizer primary doses.” Co added.
