Do you want to have a taste of yourself?

Sattva Wellness Spa, located in Barangay Kanlurang Domoit, Tayabas, Quezon would happily help satisfy your curiosity by letting you cook yourself.

They came up with a unique concept of pampering their guests through their Kawa Hot Bath.

Sattva began in 2018 as the "House of New Beginnings," a retirement residence for Dodjie and Elisa Ricafort.

“We had been married for more than 25 years, had just returned from decades of working in University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and hospital. We planned to spend our retirement in the Philippines,” Dodjie told OpinYon Quezonin.

“We ultimately saying goodbye to the corporate world at 50,” Ricafort added.

The couple bought several properties as an investment.

The pair instantly fell in love with the 720-square meter property in Kanlurang Domoit, which was surrounded by lush and refreshed waves of green.

“We opened Sattva in March 2021 because Social Media Aficionados grew interested in the property after seeing ‘Instagrammable’ photos,” Dodjie related. “We offer quiet, peaceful and a place for some relaxation.”

“The place is made exclusively for the family, for couple and friends who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life,” he added.

“The whole place is yours. We want Sattva to be a tranquil getaway, where guests can unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.”

How do Kawa baths work?

It takes time to prepare for a kawa bath, usually approximately 30 minutes.

To begin, the workers will ignite fires with pieces of wood and dry bamboo to heat the kawa.

The crew would then add herbs, fragrant leaves, flowers, natural minerals, essential oils, and milk to the water as it steadily boiled to the proper temperature.

The water steam subsequently gives off a wonderful aromatic scent that’s invigorating to the mind and senses.

In the luxury segment, the role of the spa has been elevated to a position of being an expected amenity.

“Good customer service keeps old guests coming back for the same services. These guests make up a large part of the Sattva’s sustainability,” Ricafort explained.

“We trained our staff and focus on creating great customer experiences,” Ricafort added.

He further stated that when services are delivered with competence, not only are customers more likely to return.

Plus, of course, happy customers tend to talk to friends and family about their great experiences.
