Santa Rosa City’s wrestling, gymnastics and chess teams dominated the Batang Pinoy competition in their respective fields, gaining them championship titles.
In a media interview, Roy Lazaga, head of the Santa Rosa City Sports Development Office, credited the stellar performance of the city’s young athletes at the competition to the extensive support given to them by the local government.
The city government of Santa Rosa is set to give a heroes’ welcome to its young athletes who brought honor to the city, as well as cash incentives for their hard work and dedication.
“Yung gold po namin, magre-receive po sila ng P30,000 each. Then for silver po is P20,000. And for bronze medal naman po natin is P10,000,” Lazaga reported.
“For team competition naman is P50,000 para sa gold medalists, P30,000 para sa silver medalists, and P20,000 para sa bronze medalists.”
