Three re-elected partylists would vow to push for their bills in the coming 19th Congress for social justice, improving the healthcare delivery and protecting senior citizens from abuse.

Re-elected partylists--- ACT-CIS and Senior Citizens-- will use the remainder of President Duterte's term to pass remaining bills in their their advanced stages for his signature and those bills that are lapsing into law.

In particular, ACT-CIS incumbent Rep. Jocelyn Tulfo said

"now that ACT-CIS is no longer a neophyte in Congress, we will seek a deeper role in the passage of innovations and reforms to fulfill the justice aspirations of the Filipino people."

Tulfo vowed to “enact more laws that will aid vulnerable persons against abuse from both private and government malefactors.”

She said ACT-CIS returns to work later this month to participate in the official count of the votes forPresident and Vice President.

“We return to work soon to pass remaining bills in their advanced stages, so we can send those to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte before his term ends and some bills for lapsing into law,” Rep. Tulfo said.

BHW to bat for more school clinics, vaccine security

For its part, re-elected BHW Party-list said it will focus on making sure the laws it had pushed and will continue to push to be effectively and efficiently implemented by the lead agencies.

“We have many more items on our legislative priorities and we will fully exercise with our House colleagues our oversight powers to ensure proper implementation of laws,” said Rep. Angelica Natasha Co.

“We will push for better health services delivery, more school clinics, more accountability from the PhilHealth, service standards for hospitals and barangay health centers, vaccine security and more mandatory vaccines for children and mothers,” she added.

Working with the Department of Health, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, and Department of Social Welfare and Development, the BHW congresswoman said she will push for more and better training and career development of all sectors in Barangay Health and Wellness.

“We shall be working with health professionals as well as barangay volunteers to mend the gap. In the 19th Congress, we will further strengthen our working relationships with the BHW Federations and the BHWs serving at the barangays and in remote communities,” Rep. Co said.

“We will also deepen our working relations with other sectors of barangay health and wellness, including the caregivers, physical therapists, massage specialists, hair stylists, pedicurists, manicurists, barbers, fitness trainers, and gym entrepreneurs–because all of them have their roles in the wellness and health aspects of their neighbors and clientele.”

Senior Citizens Partylist incumbent Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes said he would work on bills that would protect the elderly from abuse.

“We want the Social Security System (SSS) and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) retiree pensions to be off-limits to loan sharks and lending firms.

There is an urgent need to enable the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Insurance Commission, and other government financial regulators to go after scammers victimizing seniors and retirees,” Ordanes said.

“We also want all the next administrations, from Malacañang down to the barangays, to match nice words with real action at the frontlines of seniors' care. There are mandated budget shares for the youth and GAD, but not the same for seniors,” Ordanes noted.
Our legislative priorities for the seniors in the workers’ sector in the next Congress include the further strengthening of the state pension funds and financial institutions. This is why we shall ready new bills for the SSS, GSIS, PAG-IBIG Fund, Philippine Veterans Bank, and retirement fund of military and uniformed personnel,” Ordanes also said.
