Beer lovers can now grab the San Miguel Pale Pilsen limited edition featuring the works of Larry Alcala, National Artist for Visual Arts and Rob Cham, illustrator and National Book Awardee.

SAN Miguel has partnered with two Filipino comic artists and illustrators to create the very first limited edition ‘IconiCan’ now available in stores nationwide.

Artworks of the late editorial cartoonist Larry Alcala and graphic novelist Rob Cham hope to connect with beer lovers through creativity and love for local art.

Known for his Slice of Life illustrations and other comic strips, Lauro “Larry” Alcala was posthumously awarded the National Artist for Visual Arts in 2018.

In his 56 years of cartooning and illustrating Filipino life, Alcala chronicled the country’s history which includes subjects that made their mark in Pinoy culture such as San Miguel Pale Pilsen.

Comic book artist and illustrator Rob Cham has worked with Uniqlo, Doc Martens, and Oishi among others creating contemporary pop graphics that put together intrigue and aesthetics.

Cham received the National Book Award for his first graphic novel, Light while the follow-up book Lost, received the National Children’s Book Award.

“The IconiCan connects people together with San Miguel Pale Pilsen, perfectly embodying the brand’s message of ‘Kahit Kailan, Walang Iwanan’,” San Miguel’s statement reads.

Each limited edition Larry Alcala X Rob Cham IconiCan has a QR code with the link to the San Miguel Pale Pilsen Samahan for where fans can receive updates and notifications about their programs and promos such as this month’s Oktoberfest.

Fans of local komiks will surely want to grab the can for their collection.
