Instead of just limiting those qualified to get second booster shots for COVID 19, the government must expand the list to ensure better protection of the citizenry against the virus and its mutations and subvariants.

With the second booster shot against COVID-19 now just limited to the immunocompromised, the Department of Health and the Food and Drug Administration are being asked to expand those receiving the second booster shots to all those under the A3 category.

Rep. Rodolfo Ordanes of the Senior Citizen Partylist, in a statement, said the list must be expanded to grant full apporval to all COVID vaccines with emergency use authorization.

I ask the DOH and FDA to expand the eligibility criteria for the second booster to include everyone in the A3 or people with comorbidities category. Right now only the seniors, healthcare frontliners and immunocompromised subset of the A3 are eligible for the second booster, Ordanes said.

Expanding the eligibility for the 2nd booster will improve the protection of all the A3 because of their varying medical conditions. Para pati mga anak na adults ng seniors at mga apo ng seniors makasama na sa puedeng mag-second booster.

I also ask the FDA to please fully approve the best of the COVID vaccines which still have only EUA. Full approval will mean issuance of the certificate of product registration, thereby making the COVID vaccines more widely available. Their inoculation will be under the direct close supervision of doctors at the hospitals and clinics.

Start with the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines which already have full approval in the USA for adults.

Full approval will result in a jump in vax rates because of the wider and easier availability. Nasa 68 million plus pa lang ang fully vaccinated. Kapag meron nang full approval, mas tataas ang vax rate, pati na ang boosted rate.
