THE Nationals, the Philippines' first and only esports league, is calling all Tekken7 players in the country including those currently enrolled students.

Rolling into their third season this 2021, they have opened registration for gamers to be drafted into The Nationals Challenger Series.

The Nationals Challenger Series is the first stage where the top four players will receive P 2,000 and a chance to be drafted by one of the league's pro teams.

Registration is currently ongoing but will soon end on March 15 for The Challenger Series and on March 22 for the Academy Series. There is a 128-player limit for The Challenger Series.

The Challenger Series tournament is scheduled for March 20-21 while the Academy Series is set for March 27-28, 2021.

This tournament is currently for the game Tekken7, a fighting game by Bandai Namco Entertainment playable on an arcade, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows.

Other game tournaments that The Nationals have held since 2019 are DOTA 2 and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

Registration is free. Players only need to have a PC, Tekken7 installed on PC or Steam, the programs Hamachi and Parsec, and a Discord account.

The esports league is known to have given some of the biggest esport cash prizes in the Philippines. For the last 2 seasons, they've reported having awarded over P 8 million in total prizes.

It may seem a huge amount but according to a recent report made in the US, the highest esports prize pool is $14.75M in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a first-person shooter game. The study includes Major, the global sports tournaments set on October 2021. (HD)
