There will be delays in arrivals and departures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. on Monday.

There will be delays in arrivals and departures at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) during the first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. on Monday.

The country's aviation regulator will be enforcing limited and no-fly zones at the House of Representatives in Batasan Complex and its immediate vicinity from July 23-25, 2022.

It means that certain aircraft cannot fly during the event.

According to Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) spokesman Eric Apolonio, the regulator has already issued Notice to Airmen (Notam) B2088/22 as an advisory for the said event in order to ensure security and safety during the president's SONA.

"From 23 July 2022 at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to 25 July 2022, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., all unauthorized aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) within 5 nautical miles radius from the surface of Batasan Pambansa in Quezon City will be temporarily restricted," the CAAP said in a statement.

CAAP added that training flights of flying schools within Luzon are also suspended from July 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to July 25, 2022, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The inbound and outbound of commercial flights at NAIA will only be affected when Marcos Jr. delivers his SONA on Monday afternoon.
