Authorities said that Occidental Mindoro is safe from tsunami despite the 5.0 magnitude quake that hit the province Tuesday morning. No damage is expected.
RESIDENTS OF A COASTAL community were shaken when a magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck near San Jose, Occidental Mindoro at 7:24 this morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the epicenter of the quake was located at 58 kilometers south of San Jose town.
Intensity 3 was felt in San Jose while Intensity 2 was felt in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro and Sebaste, Antique.
Authorities say no structural damage was expected from the earthquake. (ONT)
