Motorists are now advised to take alternate routes as the southbound exit at the Alabang Viaduct will be closed starting February 20.

Alabang southbound exit to be closed to give way for construction of Skyway extension project

Motorists traveling through the South Luzon Expressway (SLEx) are advised to take alternate routes as the road closures have been announced on the expressway’s Alabang Viaduct section starting February 20.

In a statement, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) said the southbound exit toll plaza at the Alabang Viaduct will be closed to give way for the construction of the southbound portion of the Skyway South Extension project.

“We’re again appealing for patience and understanding from our motorists in the south and residents in the area, for any delays that they may experience, as we work to complete the Skyway Extension. We’ve put in place measures to help mitigate the impact on you and to ensure safety,” SMC president and COO Ramon Ang said in a statement.

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:

•Class 1 vehicles headed to Alabang or Alabang-Zapote Rd. may take Filinvest Exit Toll Plaza towards their destination.

•Class 1, 2 and 3 vehicles bound for Alabang, Putatan, and National Road may take the Susana Exit Toll Plaza, turn right at Susana Heights Ave., and turn either left or right on the National Road to their respective destinations.

Heavy traffic is also expected in the area due to the installation of girders, coping beams, and pre-cast slabs.

The Skyway Extension project will extend the current Skyway network to Susana Heights Exit in Muntinlupa City.

Once completed, the Skyway Extension will make travel to and from southern Metro Manila and southern Luzon provinces much faster and more convenient, especially with the new Skyway Stage 3 from Buendia, Makati to the North Luzon Expressway, providing seamless connection to the north. (ONT)
