The resolutions were aimed at adding P93 million to the P297 million allocated by the national government for Cabuyao City, to help residents affected by the reimposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
WHEN officials are lazy its the people that suffer.
The city government of Cabuyao, Laguna had suspended its plans to give out cash aid for the residents of the city, even as Mayor Mel Gecolea failed to make good on his promise earlier this week.
This, after a special session of the Cabuyao City Council called to approve the allocation of supplemental funds for the program failed to reach a quorum.
The Sangguniang Panglungsod ng Cabuyao called for a special session today (August 21) to discuss resolutions for Supplemental Annual Investment Program No. 12 and Supplemental Budget No. 8 of the General Fund of the city for Calendar Year 2021.
The resolutions were aimed at adding P93 million to the P297 million allocated by the national government for Cabuyao City to be distributed to residents affected by the reimposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
However, the session was adjourned early due to lack of quorum.
Cabuyao City Vice Mayor Atty. Leif Opiña and Councilor Jan Christian Entredicho were present at the session, while Councilors Atty. Cocoy Lopez and Ting Alimagno participated via video conference.
The city government is expected to start the rollout of the distribution of the cash aid on Monday (August 23).
