There’s no experience more rewarding for a parent than to see his or her child graduate from school.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, seeing a son or a daughter or any kin receives a diploma—even virtually—makes the whole world spin with excitement.
Just look at Lagunense singer, music artist and arts technocrat Michelle Junia, also known in the culture circuit as Nikki Junia, whose heart leapt when her daughter Micka Yngson recently finished her precious education with a bang.
Micka has just graduated with a degree in AB Psychology from De La Salle University in Manila and not only Nikki is proud of her but her entire family as well.
Direct from San Pedro City, Micka’s kith and kin virtually hugged her for the achievement not everyone could hurdle.
In her Facebook pages, Nikki penned these messages: “Again, I am very proud of you anak (daughter) finishing AB Psychology (course you chose for yourself) in DLSU-Manila. May God bless the next chapter in your life as you fulfill His purpose for you!”

And a more heartwarming post for the graduate: “My daughter! She is my best friend. I’m not sure what I did to deserve her but I thank God she is in my life. She’s loving, strong, and I couldn’t imagine my life without her. I love her so much.”
Meanwhile, if anyone out there misses the controversial Lagunense award-winning filmmaker Celso Ad. Castillo--especially most of his fans and admirers in and out of showbiz, no worries, he has someone to remind us of him—his younger brother, filmmaker as well, John Ad. Castillo who has just celebrated his natal day recently in their hometown, Siniloan.
John was an assistant director to Celso but has since established himself as an independent film artist.
“To my friends who might ask how old I am? Well it's secret and besides as the saying goes ‘Age is only a number,’" shared John Ad.
