Tier One Entertainment raises Pre-Series A funding

Gaming and esports talent agency Tier One Entertainment has announced new funding in its Pre-series A which will be used in their expansion and support programs for their esports team, Blacklist International.

Gaming and esports talent agency Tier One Entertainment has announcedit secured for Pre-series A new round of financing from venture capital fund Gobi Partners and record label Warner Music Group.

The funding will be used by Tier One to expand further in Asia and support their esports team, Blacklist International. The company currently operates in the Philippines, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

Founded in 2017 by cosplayer and gamer Alodia Gosiengfiao, esports veteran Tryke Gutierrez, and entrepreneur Brian Lim, Tier One is one of the largest gaming and entertainment providers with over 420 talents.

“We firmly believe that we are an Asian behemoth in the making and now that we have more support from established venture capital firms around the globe, Tier One Entertainment is now poised for explosive growth,” said Gutierrez.

Other investors include Singapore-based family office Octava, Japanese internet company KAYAC, and venture capital firm Atlas Ventures.

Tier One was backed by Bitkraft Ventures and Atlas Ventures during its seeding round.

Carlo Delantar, Partner, Core Capital, added: “Tier One showed their resilience and agility through their meteoric rise in the industry. Not only did the team understand the complex space of esports and entertainment, Tier One continues to thrive by expanding its footprint across the region.”

The news is also a personal win for Gosiengfiao who only recently successfully launched her first makeup brand with a lipstick line named after gaming terminologies.

In 2020, esports had an audience of 495 million people all over the world. It’s also predicted that the esports industry will be worth 1.5 billion dollars by 2023.

Today, Blacklist International will be facing Bren Esports at 4PM for the Mobile Legends Professional League-Philippines Season 7 in a fight being coined as the Undefeated vs World Champions match. (HD)
