The cast of the hit sitcom ‘Friends’ will finally reunite – along with celebrity guests – in a much-awaited episode set to be aired on May 27.

Friends: the reunion' is finally premiering on HBO max this month with special friends such as BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and more.

After several delays, HBO Max is finally set to release the reunion special of Emmy Award-winning comedy TV show.

Originally scheduled to premiere last year, the streaming platform had to push back production due to the ongoing pandemic.

The beloved ’90s sitcom first aired back in 1994 and completed its final season 17 years ago on May 6, 2004.

The entire original cast – Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer – will be in the unscripted episode, which was filmed at the series’ original soundstage on Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California.

Fifteen celebrities will make cameos overall including former cast members Tom Selleck, who played Monica’s former boyfriend Richard, and Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice. The star studded guest list includes BTS, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, David Beckham, James Corden, Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Elliott Gould, Kit Harington, Mindy Kaling, Thomas Lennon, James Michael Tyler (who played Gunther), Reese Witherspoon (who played Rachel’s younger sister Jill in Season 6) and Malala Yousafzai, among others.

HBO Max also dropped a first look at the reunion that features all six “Friends” walking arm-in-arm together through the Warner Bros. Studio lot in Burbank, California, as an instrumental version of the show’s theme song plays in the background.

Each of the six stars shared the news in coordinated posts on Instagram.

“Could we BE any more excited?!” Aniston wrote alongside the trailer, with Cox adding in her own post: “This kind of thing doesn’t happen every year, or even every 10, or 15 years. I feel so blessed to have had a chance to reunite with my Friends... and it was better than ever.”

Schwimmer joked that he “had a blast with the cast and a solid nap with LeBlanc,” who wrote that it was “so great to see everyone.” Kudrow, meanwhile, dubbed the special as “The one with us finally getting together.” And Perry kept it short and sweet, exclaiming: “We’re back!”

In the reunion episode, the cast members will not reprise their Friends roles but will instead appear as themselves for an unscripted show. (NP)
