Even if he has already successfully mounted one-man art exhibits in the past, this time, actor Ian de Leon’s show is in a collective inspiration among various artists in the arts community.

They, too, made their aesthetics more relevant in these challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

No stone was left unturned when Ian joined filmmaker Emmanuel de la Cruz, dance doyen Edna Vida and regional arts leader Noel Garrovillo in a media project billed “Breaking Borders”. It’s an audacious arts gig where he and the other three artisans set the tone of purging stereotypes in a community of multimedia craftsmen who are taking aside the threats of the new coronavirus in a sense of humanism.

“If we are careful and following health advisories and protocols, we don’t feel unsafe,”

said Emman, an award-winning director, actor, writer, producer, mentor, acting coach etc. and one of Ian’s friends.

Conquer The World

The group is optimistic not only to a complete headway of their performances until November 25, 2020 at the Hot Off The Press at 163 Maginhawa Street in Sikatuna Village but on a global conquest as well.

“We will conquer the whole world with our art,” beamed Ian while toasting his goblet of wine with his fellow artists.

“Watch out for us,” he invited the public enthusiastically.

Influenced By Sis

Didn’t you know that it was Lotlot de Leon who influenced Ian in his penchant for the canvas?

With each stroke of creativity, Ian is indebted to his sister.

Ian admitted he got into painting and discovered his passion just two years ago when Lotlot had a private painting class at her home in Parañaque.

The actor was just watching on the sideline but was already falling in love with the art of painting.

Full-Fledged Artisan

Since then, he reinforced his artistic leanings and understanding of the craft by watching YouTube tutorials, dialogues with some artists and visiting galleries and exhibits.

As a full-pledged painter, Ian had his first exhibit at Romeo Lindain’s art cafe followed by another show in Tagaytay for “Istorya ng Obra at Kultura Natin” where he was recognized and won awards for his pieces.
